An extra night before your Caucasus tour can make a real difference to the start of your holiday. Many flight connections arrive late at night or early in the morning. Having a hotel room ready means you can sleep, freshen up and enjoy breakfast before meeting your guide.
A gentler start to your tour
When excursions are scheduled on the first day, we normally start at around 11:00 am, giving guests arriving on early flights some time before sightseeing begins. However, after an overnight flight, a long connection or a journey from a distant departure point, you may prefer more time to recover.
Arriving a day earlier gives you a quieter start. You can rest, adjust to the local time and enjoy a little free time before the programme begins. We recommend this particularly for travellers coming from further afield or anyone who prefers to begin a tour feeling refreshed.
Why an early arrival may require an extra hotel night
Your included hotel booking starts on the first day of the tour, with standard check-in normally at 14:00. It does not automatically give you access to a room from midnight or when an early flight lands.
For example, if your tour begins on 20 April and you arrive at 02:00 that morning, you need to book the night of 19 April to have a room ready on arrival. Without that extra night, immediate check-in is not guaranteed and you would normally have to wait until 14:00. Arriving late in the evening of 20 April is different: the room booked from 20 April already covers that night.
Tell us your flight details in advance so we can reserve the correct night and let the hotel know about your arrival after midnight. This allows you to go straight to your room, rest and have breakfast before joining the group.
